Federal Reserve encourages you to “Go Direct” Go Direct is a national campaign designed to motivate Americans to select direct deposit for their federal benefit payments, such as Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). The U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Federal Reserve Banks are reaching out to people through financial institutions to inform them about the benefits of direct deposit, and help them sign up for it. Why is the government promoting direct deposit?
